A flowchart showing 'YOU' connected to various healthcare and support roles.

Interventional Radiologist, MD

An interventional radiologist is a medical doctor who uses medical imaging to perform minimally invasive, targeted treatments without major surgery. At the Obesity Institute, this physician performs the one-hour, non-surgical weight loss procedure that we specialize in. They are central to our holistic approach, also providing pre- and post-procedure medical consultations to ensure sustained weight loss results.

Anesthesiologist, MD

An anesthesiologist will primarily administer drugs that reduce or eliminate pain during surgery and other medical procedures. Our procedure doesn’t require anesthesia, but we may use an anesthesiologist in a consulting role to help develop safety protocols or other needs.

Health & Life Coach

Our health & life coach will help you achieve personal and wellness goals by providing guidance, motivation, and accountability. Our mission at the Obesity Institute is to support your entire weight loss journey. After your one-hour procedure, our coach helps you navigate the crucial lifestyle changes required for long-term success. Think of them as your accountability partner, ensuring you have the tools and support to achieve sustained results.

Surgical Tech

At the Obesity Institute, our surgical tech prepares our office-based procedure room and ensures all instruments, such as catheters and microscopic particles, are sterile and properly laid out. They assist our physician during the procedure and handle all of the post-procedure clean-up.

Primary Care Physician, MD

As a part of our team, a primary care physician acts as the main point of contact for your everyday health needs. They will first evaluate you to determine if you’re a suitable candidate for our BAE weight loss procedure. Following your procedure, they will manage your overall health, monitor progress, prescribe and manage medications like GLP-1s, and collaborate with health coaches.

Psychiatrist, MD

Specializing in mental health, with the ability to prescribe medication, a psychiatrist is here to assess your mental readiness for the procedure and address any underlying psychological issues, such as binge eating or food addiction. These conditions hinder success. They may also provide behavioral therapy to support your long-term commitment to a healthier lifestyle. They are critical for ensuring sustainable results by treating the whole person, not just your physical hunger.

Nurses

Our nurses assist with the one-hour, non-surgical procedure, monitor your quick recovery, and provide post-procedure education. They also assist with follow-up care, helping to manage weight loss medications and supporting you through your consultations with life and health coaches.

CT Tech

Our CT tech specializes with X-ray equipment to create cross-sectional images of your body for diagnostic purposes. During the procedure, they operate the scanner to provide real-time imaging, guiding our physician to precisely locate the artery leading to your stomach.
