Procedure Day

  • The procedure is done at the doctor's office/clinic as an outpatient procedure.

  • The procedure itself will take approximately one hour.

  • Patients will return home on the day of the procedure.

Post Procedure

  • BAE is an outpatient procedure.

  • Post-procedure recovery of 4–6 hours prior to discharge.

  • Home to rest for the remainder of the day.

  • You may shower the next day and go back to your normal routine.

  • No heavy lifting or exercise until your follow-up appointment.

  • Your full list of instructions will be given to you prior to the procedure.

Expectation

  • Participation will last 12 months.

  • Includes close follow-up with diet and exercise plans.

  • Other studies have shown that BAE is safe.

  • Common side effects may include bruising, transient upset stomach, bloating, and swelling.
